Description |
As an Actionscript Games Developer you will be technically and creatively competent to work on all aspects of a Flash game from discussing initial concepts with the team, building a technical demo, creating a level editor, building a solid game engine and adding effects and final polish. We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for games - old and new. Someone who is interested in creating games based on experimental ideas and likes solving problems. Nitrome is a well-established games studio based in London. We produce original high quality flash games for licensing and for our own website which gets millions of visitors every week. Key tasks/responsibilities of the role: - Ability to solve programming problems required to realise a game concept - Extensive knowledge of Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0 - Use of object oriented, class based actionscript programming - Extensive knowledge of Flash including how to use timelines and movieclips effectively - Knowledge of (and willingness to learn) mathematical concepts to help create more interesting and clever game ideas - Writing code in a clean, commented style that can be understood by other members of the programming team Although design will not be a major part of your role you will be required to be able to do the following: - Keep placeholder graphics clean and presentable - Be able to apply simple design styles (as provided by a designer/artist) to various game options pages and assets within a Flash game - Be able to create clean basic graphic assets when required using Photoshop - Be able to compress and optimise images to minimise filesize The following would also be a bonus: - Knowledge of other programming languages such as Java or C++ - Knowledge of HTML, CSS, javascript, php Please forward your CV with any examples of your previous games development work to jobs@nitrome.com |
