I have a large project that requires this, but I'm not sure how to approach it.
On a much simpler scale, how would someone go about a drawing a shape in a very specific direction, for example: the letter "S" - assuming I wanted to animate "drawing" the S into a movie but very precisely: from point A to point B. A being the bottom end point of the "S" and B being the top end point of the "S".
It seems like there would be a very straightforward way of doing this, but I was never really formally trained in flash and while I'm familiar with motion guides, I don't see a way to "grow" along guides.
I wondered if perhaps there was an actionscript method of doing something like this, because I've read tutorials about drawing masks across a stage according to where your mouse pointer is - maybe there is a way to draw it along a guide.
I just hope my only option isn't frame by frame animation, because due to the scale of the project, that would take several days, if not weeks :( .
Thanks for your help.
