does anyone know about this site?

It seems interesting, except that they wanted my SSN. It looks like they connect buyers with coders and then everyone bids on the job.

Sounds like it could either be a good thing, or a way for people to take advantage of coders and get stuff REAL cheap!

What do you guys think?

plenty of those site that don't require SSN. STAY AWAY!

i don't know. I have seen plenty in the past. People bid was so cheap that it wasn't worth me keep a track off; so i didn't. But they didn't require SSN

yeah i was afraid of that... all the other coders selling themselves short is causing problems for the rest of us! people only want to pay 200 bucks for a flash site integrated with a database, with custom in-flash guestbook, real-time updated news with use of a socket server, and an online store.

haha, seriously its ALMOST that bad!

it IS that bad. People India can do it for that cheaper because the USD is a lot more over there. It is kind of like if we were accepting bids in Euros, but people from India really make out on the deal. They can spend an entire week on 1 site for $200 and make out pretty well. I figure the only advantage I offer is the client is able to call me, can't call India.

No kidding. That and template sites selling flash for $0.25 ... which people invariably buy and then come to us asking for edits because they can't edit it themselves and their vendor doesn't offer the support they want.
