Win XP sp2

2 days ago I installed a web trial of Sorrenson Squeeze, and I thought that things were fine. However, now when I go back and try to play video than I have pulled from DVD's (my home DVD's of my dogs and concerts), my computer completely locks up. The CPU jumps to 100% and just stays there. In addition, whenever I tried to use "Total Video Converter" it took 500-1000% longer to try to convert formats from my .VOB files to MPEG. "TVC" estimated 20 hours, but I didn't let it run after I saw that.

Okay so I rolled back my computer to an earlier date before I installed the Squeeze, defrag-ed my PC, Scaned the disc for errors, and cleaned-up the HDD. And now everything is seemingly back to normal. "TVC" now take 55 seconds to covert a 95 MB files instead of hours, and my computer doesn't lock up when I simply just put my mouse cursor on the ripped DVD files.

Does anyone know what the problem is with Squeeze and my PC?

I have DivX install on my PC from here: http://www.divx.com/?lang=en . I know that the web installer in addtion to just installing Squeeze, it installs another Windows application. I can't remember the name of it now. However, could these two programs be having conflicts?

I'm at a loss, and I'd really like to figure out what the problem is. I landed a job where I convert videos for a guy and it pays for me to buy Squeeze, but not if I can't still play my .VOB's and use "TVC".

Thanks for reading.

(I never used to recommened Registry Cleaners - but I use Registry Mechanic often without problems. Maybe you could benefit a little by tidying up the reg. with it or a similar program that you trust).
