Hello,

Thanks in advance for any help and/or advice. It is very much appreciated.

I have a problem with launching SWF's from my computer.

One day (completely unexpectadly) i clicked on an SWF and windows (XP pro) had absolutely no idea which program to open it up with (it didn't even have a Flash SWF icon associated with it).

So i went through the process of reassociating the file with an 'SWF' file type. I got the icon back - however, i still cannot launch the SWF. Windows asks me to select a program from a list it provides.

Has anyone had a similar problem? If so, how did you solve it?

Regards, snapple :]

Same thing happened to me about 2 months ago. I had to uninstall Flash IDE and the Flash Player and re-install both..that fixed the problem for me.

Questions:
1) Can you still play flash movie's online?
2) Can you still play flash movies locally if you view it in the browser?
3) Can you still compile from the IDE?
4) You did pick the FP from the list to open the file with, right?

You could always simply roll back your computer a day or two to fix the problem.

I'm still not sure what the cause this problem is, but it didnt happen to anything other than Flash.

4) Wasn't availalable and when i went lookinf for it, it wouldn't let me chose it.Did you go to "browse" and then browser to the flash folder and choose the .exe file?

If that doesn't do it, I guess re-install :(
