Extension manager help needed

I am running Mac OS X 10.3.9 and Flash 8 with Extension Manager 1.7.xxx installed. I've installed 2-3 Flash components/extensions before, and and I wanted to add a new one. However, when I open Extension Manager, I see NO installed components. It's empty, even though the components/extensions are in Flash 8.

Additionally, I can't install new components either. I've tried opening Extension Manager while Flash 8 is both running and shut down, and I've also deleted the Flash MRU and preferences from my user library.

Any suggestions?

What happens if you delete the extension pieces from the user library on a Mac? There's not the equivalent of a Windows registry entry for each of the extensions somewhere else in the prefs or settings, right?

Last try -- I noticed that IT changed my admin privileges overnight. Is that going to make it harder to resolve this issue?
