Client side image resizing

Hi,

is flash capable to resize images in clients computer and then upload them?
If so, then from which version?

I'm trying to do the same thing! I have flash uploading images to the server fine with (lots of) help from flash-db (http://www.flash-db.com/Tutorials/upload/) and I can limit the file sizes but what i'd really like to do is resize the images before uploading.

Any ideas?
