Hey again, i was wondering how exactly i'm supposed to start a flash site... i like drew out my design and stuff and read my flash manuals but it's intimidating just looking @ the blank stage... i don't know how to start. i want a scrolling text box on one side of it, but i don't know if i'm supposed to start that first or what... aaaah it's scary :(
Also, regarding the 'test movie' command, how come it enlarges and distorts the contents on the stage? like why doesn't it just show up the same as it looks on the stage?
Thanks.

HAIL ....
i think first of all you should know your abilities i mean you should know if you can create a cool thing or not !
second step is to write your ideas and mind in a paper ...
then attention to THOSE LITTLE things ...
first one is thinking ....

Well, u should start as all the graphic des. and web des. very first basic lesson :
- GET YOUR PENCIL AND PAPER AND START PUTTING YOUR IDEAS THIER
for your second q if u want to see it as what will be after publishing use the
fscommand ("fullscreen", false)
fscommand ("allowscale, false)
in the top layer/first frame

Exactly ... especially since staring at that blank stage won't get u much inspiration ... unless you're making a website about snow, or extra white paper :).
Start with thinking about what YOU would want ... then think about what others would want when they come there, and more importantly, what they DON'T want when they get there ...
It sure beats having a setup on paper then start developing and find out halfway that another setup would be better ...

I already drew my ideas out on paper... maybe i wasn't too clear about what i need help with, but i'm not sure how to go about making things on flash, like i'm completely new to the program, and i don't know if there's any special sequence i have to use when building or what.
Thx

Well there is nothing like this magic word when u r so:
READ
READ
READ
READ
here and there and everywhere and see what others did
Hi,
This is presumably what the tutorial in the help section is for. Flash 5 has something about kites, Flash MX has something about cars.
Personally I find the only way to get anything done is just to start with the least intimidating thing. Like the background colour. I usually build whatever I want in Flash in about a day. It ends up nothing like I want, and I have to start again. But it's a day well spent. If there's one thing I've learnt over the last five or so years it's that everything appears different in different media. If you just pile in, and let your self make the mistakes on the first day then you'll begin to picture the construction of your movie, and on the second day, you'll be able to start with a greater understanding.
I know it can be intimidating when your experience of Flash is as a viewer only, the .fla files always seem very different to the effect achieved, but believe me, that's why it's so much fun. Just have a go, you won't break it.
Good luck!
cheers.
p.s. I can't speak for anyone else, but my stuff always looks rubbish until the last few hours of work, so don't worry about that:)
