Web/Flash Development Manager,
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Interactive Solutions team supports the Group on a global basis in developing, maintaining and supporting online research solutions and tools. This small team of technology and research experts assists all regions in providing clients with state-of-the-art, leading edge solutions that combine creativity and technology to meet market research requirements in a range of areas, from TV ad testing to simulated product design.
JOB PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Global Development Manager in designing web based applications for use across the group. These will be based around Macromedia Flash technology, making substantial use of Action Script and JavaScript/other web technologies.
The secondary elements of this position are to assist in the aesthetic design and functionality of various web interfaces used around the group, and provide expert Flash and JavaScript input into market research projects run through the Interactive Solutions team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible to the Global Product Development Manager, assist this position in the Product Development area.
* Provide Flash, Action Script and JavaScript expertise to support the development of new products and tools.
* Maintain and improve the current and future solutions and tools offered by Interactive Solutions.
* Provide aesthetic and design expertise across existing and new products/tools and applications to improve the user interface and functionality as necessary.
* Support the implementation of all Interactive Solutions’ products and tools and projects where necessary.
* Provide training for the rollout of new developments and improvements.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* At least 3 years knowledge and experience in Flash developments and Action Script.
* Extensive knowledge, understanding and experience of various web technologies (JavaScript, DHTML etc).
* Excellent web design and graphics creation skills. Aesthetic capability is a must.
* Be capable of taking full responsibility for developments and have experience of working in a small and flexible team.
* Be an excellent communicator, with some experience of presentations and training.
