I'm totally clueless in regards to how much flash sites should cost...
Would anyone mind telling me how much they think (ballpark) the following sites would cost if something similar was to be built?

I'd charge about $400 for either one. Probably still the same if I had to release the sources.

I recently learned that it is technically illegal in the United States for a forum such as this one to allow discussion of professional fees. Since this is a "members only" forum (regardless that anyone can register as a member), it is considered cartel-like price fixing to seek or offer advice about pricing. I kid you not! An illustrator's forum I occasionally participate in was given a stern warning about this issue.
But since I'm not in America, I'll put in my opinion that I'd probably charge $500 for either of the example sites shown. Either of them could be done in a day's work or less. Of course, there are idiots on elance.com who'll offer to do it for five bucks, so you really have to know your client and make certain they trust you in order to convince them to pay a genuine professional rate. If you get the client's respect, through your portfolio and your attitude, most small to medium sized clients like these would be happy to pay $400 or $500 for a simple but slick Flash site.

Pricing comes down to the client. I may charge a small business one price and would charge a larger company something more. You feel out what you think thier breaking point is and hit just below it. This may feel dishonest but from experience working with larger companies makes everything take 2-4x longer then it should. Everything has to be worked out in meeting after meeting.
One example from my experience was a corporate website that was only about 2 weeks of actual work. For a small business I may of charged 2k but I charged this company 45k. Seems like I ripped them off....but that 2 weeks of work took over 9 months to complete due to meetings, changes, endless phone calls. How did I know they would go for 45k.....cause i found out they paid 60k for the website this was replacing...so for them they saw it as a bargin.
Now the example you have given are small weekend projects. So 500-1000 would be a good range depending on what you think your client will go for. You need to figure out an hourly rate, and then start to figure out how long different types of projects take you. Basic "fluff info" sites are at the lower end and database driven flash apps are at the top end of the scale. Most of my projects range in the 10k-15k range but I mainly do full web apps to fit a client's needs such as a custom shopping cart or video training/testing system.
I really don't do fluff sites anymore. I see more money in the functional stuff. If it can make your client money....they will pay big money for it.
