To find answers you must have questions. Seek and ye shall found.

I am learning from scratch too. There is soooooo much info to learn it's crazy. I went to Amazon.com to order some books. I got Flash MX 2004 Bible and Flash MX ActionScript Bible and I am learning so much. I got them at a great price too compared to shelf prices. I've learned a ton from online tutorials and forums. (Especially Actionscript.org!!!!)
Good Luck
oh, some more advice... work with Flash as often as possible or it is very easy to forget. Do tutorials for fun. It's easier to retain the info if you actually do it.

:)
I've been around this site for about 2 years now, it's like my bible, mostly i'm in a hurry so I don't post much questions, I always need answes yesterday... so I mostly search in the archives and tutorials...
If you are really in to it, ActionScript can really change your life, it did for me... I have so much fun with flash.
Personally I recomend start doing the tutorials from this site, they are well sorted, and if you go in order you can start doing cool interactive things whithin hours... but try learning as fast as you can about variables, and what you can do with them... it took me 6 months to understand how they worked, because I was scared of them... same thing with functions.
Buddy, start with Jesse's tutorials, he is an exelent teacher...
and the most used line of code
trace("what the hell is going on with this "+my_mc);
But paying for online tutorials has been my best investment yet. the thing is, learn for free first.
Cheers, hope you make it.
