I'm so clever, yet too ambitious. So this tree I have drawn with have an animation of 366 frames. one for each day of the year. I've got all the coding worked out perfectly, so depending on the day adn the month, depends on what you see the tree as.

So Typically I'll start at spring, and heres my problem. I start with tiny light-green dots everywhere... then I'll scroll a few frames across ansd use a larger brush and a darker shade. then I'd use a shape tween, and what should result as a nice animation of leaves growing, actually crashed flash and closes it off!?

What am i doing wrong?

Sounds to me like your maxing out your computer's memory and/or CPU. If your making hundreds or thousands of tiny shapes, and doing a shape tween to another set of thousands of shapes, you are asking flash to do an extreme amount of work. I would suggest making a small set (maybe 10) of individual leaf growing animations and re-use them to make your tree. Something along those lines.
