Ok so I'm making a flash intro with sound and I need it to work like the one at this site.

www.therealblackwallstreet.com (http://www.therealblackwallstreet.com) <~ (the swf there is about 1.8mb)

I'm wondering if I set the mp3 as streaming within the movie and place the entire swf in a basic preloader will it end up making me wait until it loads the entire mp3 before the movie plays? I dunno I'm just having issues and I really would like to avoid hiccups in the playback but also keep the load time to a minimum, any suggestions?

you can make it so it plays before the movie finishes loading (50% or somethiong like that)

well, maybee you could make a script that detects the connection speed and changes the percent depending on the speed.

I'm just wondering if I make a preloader for the intro (which has the audio streaming internally) will it load both the movie and the audio completely before playing or will it load the moive and stream the audio.

i have no idea.

edit: yes. it loads all of it. see this:http://music.zootboy.com/Calm_progree.swf
it has the song file inside it and that makes up the entire file size and load time. i think that this is a good lo-tech way to start it before it finishes loading, also
