textArea and HTML(please read)

can anyone tell me if it's possible and how to use <s></s> or other tags besides <b></b> and <i></i> in XML documents
i'm using CDATA and everything displays great in the textArea but if try to use CSS or HTML tags it will go white what is inside of them

i installed the new FLEX 2 and it supports almost every HTML tag :)
