Hey farafiro,

you can't modify any movie in <= Flash6. You can modify QuickTime movie in Flash6, but you have to export it as QuickTime movie as well.

Movies that are transfered by softwares like "mov2swf" can't be imported in Flash, so you can't modify them.

Use Flash MX! Yeah man!

yes u r right, but I'm right too
If u imported a qt movie in flash u can export it as single BMPs and the TADAAAAAAAAAAAAA u can do what ever y want with them

O, is that what you want?!

If you do so, there is nothing left of the movie, the sound is gone and the BMP's? >> You also can make a screenshot of the movie (sound easier to me).

But it's all possible in Flash MX!

(btw i'm don't have investments in MX)

...well, if you ask me,

(depends on what you wanna do with the movie:)

Think about importing the movie into a video-editing prog like PREMIERE", there exporting the visual part as a FILM-STRIP or single frame Imagefiles and editing it in PShop and reimporting it either in Flash (as we all used to do it in Flash 5 with a numbered series of bitmaps)...
The audio can be exported as .wav and maybe transformed into an mp3 if you care for filesize and also imported into Flash.

*TA-DAAAA!*: You have an editable Flashmovie that contains frames that could be edited pixel-by-pixel and the fitting sound as an mp3...

Is that what you want to do?!???

Cheers...

that's right but the easiest way to do that with swf browser
and vid2swf

U convert the movie to swf format with vid2swf
and then split it to pics with swf browser
also u can get the sound seperate from the same pro

...ok, sounds reasonable if you intend to manipulate the frames within Flash...whatever you want to do.

I thought it was some kind of pre-production question...

How did you get 980 posts?!
How long did it take you?!

Cheers

MX claims to handle video, but I was still scared off by it. I did a little testing when I got it, but decided to use the FlashAnts technology for my current project. I have to play back many video segments on demand. The Flash interface ties them all together, but there may potentially be about 2 minutes of 30fps 640x480 AVI video.

When I tried importing video into Flash, playback was not smooth at 30fps, and there were very noticeable compression artifacts. I didn't play with all the compression settings, but I was hoping the defaults would do better.

This is a CD and local intranet project, so I can get away with big video. Also, I don't need any Flash elements overlaid on top of the video, so I get the full FlashAnts acceleration.

I was wondering if anyone else has worked with "large-sized" video in Flash MX, and with what level of success.

Hi.
You may want to check out our software, Flix, which will convert most video, sound and image files into .swf. It creates the new Flash MX video and it also creates Flash 3-5 video (both importable and non-importable).
If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
