my problem is that i want to automatically give any permission to flash to open anything i tell it to

that may by

BUT i NOT wana this !
and security settings are there to protect ME (not to stress you)
so no way to do so ;)

what if there is a security hole in my pdf reader and i NOT wana alowe any program to use it whit out explicit aprovement from me ?

no one woud/coud use flash contnent
till what ever 3th party software has a security hole in it
is so nice and fix this
ok acrobat reader is from adobe too
but there are alot of others to
so if company XY deside not to fix the bug the flash player is worth less

hi, why are u talking about holes and bugs?
like i said this is for distribution so all the people that buy the product will know what the cd is about, they'll run the app from the cd and open some docs that are in the same directory, ok what if in stead of open a pdf file i want to open a .fla file from flashpaper or something? i just don't want the client to have to give permission to flash any time they want to open any file and besides thats what cross-domain policy files are for right? but i don't know how to configure it

O hup CD projector

Sorry !!!

any way
if you try to open it whit "href" you open a browser wich underly the security restrictions i wrtite abouth (there is no overcome)

whit a projector you can use fscommand to start an exe (pdf.exe)
BUT
the exe needs to by in a specific subfolder
and you can't submit parameters eg what file to open

you can write a "bat" wich you start then whit fscommand
whit what prog to open eg pdf.exe and parameters to it
wich is undinamic as you need for any file a separate "bat" file
also do you need to know where pdf.exe is instaled (as long it's not reachebel truh a standard win path)

not sure mayby this limits are more flexible whit flex
it also coud by you need diferent commands as fscommand

... i want to open a .fla ...

an fla you can't open :p (you need flash for it (not the player))
you coud load an SWF INSIDE the projector

flaspaper acts as a common flash app so how do you open a flash from html link from a htmlText in my textArea component?

<mx:TextArea id="areaDeTexto" width="414" height="390" textAlign="justify"
wordWrap="true" editable="false" htmlText="{datagrid.selectedItem.desc}|{datagrid2.selectedIt em.desc}"
backgroundImage="FONDOS/escudo.jpg" backgroundSize="100%" x="0" y="0">

any other ideas?
