gun in games

I'm working to build the ultimate game. so far i've got the basics down like the charecter, score, crosshair and background.
know what i need to do next is add in the gun (people who play fps games willm understand what i'm saying).
so if anyone knows how to add in the gun at the bottom of the screen that follows the mouse please tell me.
( send me a sample file, or tell me where one is or just right it up on here)

Hi,

What you need is a movieclip containing all the stills (single images) of the gun-graphic in it's different pointing-directions.

Depending on how you want to do this - but the best way would be to do a shape-tweening, which would look best as the animation would look smooth.

Then you could make a looping movie clip that permanently tracks the mouseposition and depending on this will tell the gun-movie to which frame it has to go.

That's the theory, I think the details shouldn't be too difficult, eh?
