I had to download Mac Quicktime the other day to view a Macromedia support movie, but now it's uninstalled, I realised it totally took up my multimedia, without event asking.

It took over, MPG, MOV, Etc etc so I coulnt find around this in the menus preset and I totaly unistalled and then I also complained to the producers, this sort of stuff isnt on! I hate programes takng over my multimedia players.

You need to change your prefeneces in Quicktime itself. Just tell it to leave the .swf files alone.

If you are in OS X open your system prefs. Open quicktime prefs there. Under one of the tabs in teh quicktime prefs you will find a "MIME settings". Click on that and deselct the swf file. I think that is how you do it.

You can also change settings in your browser prefs so that quicktime doesn't try and run your swf files there too. That way when you download something the browser doesn't add the helper app as the quicktime player. So when you click on the file it should open in the flash player.

Hope this helps
