I was wondering about file size for an entire site I'm doing. Its at 688kb and Im just getting started. Any thoughts?

script all the tweens, and script as much as possible...Tinker with JPG compression alittle...

remove any embedded graphics, and bring them in programmatically as you need them.

you file size is way to big..... it may end up being a really cool site, but if its too big. folks wont wait around to see it.

So I take it with my site being 1.26 MB is exteremly too big?? I'm not sure... It does take a while to load...

who is your audience?
will they sit and wait? is it for a business?
its all relative..... generally, i think what you have is too big.

It is a business and farely relative. I'm looking for ways to compress it a bit. I'm new at this but I think I can get it eventually. For now, the customers will just have to wait. THey should be impressed once they see it.
