Im new to flash as Im a php developer. I got this swf file on a page and I want it such that it doesnt play the next time the page is loaded.

Normally, we would use cookies to store this info.

What do I got to do to this swf (or fla ?) file to make this change ?

you can either use run a php file in the background with flash to set and check for the cookie, or i THINK there's something called sharedObject? remoteObject? storedObject? I'm not sure exactly, but there is some sort of "cookie" type of thing.

its not a cookie though, as far as i know its stored in the cache. never used it though. search the forums, i know ive seen it before!

Do I have to code this using ActionScript ? If so, do I need to edit the fla file ?

shared objects (http://www.bestflashanimationsite.com/tutorials/4/)

There also is the possiblity to send a variable to the Flash file, which tells it to not play.
By using php to create the variable if it has been viewed, or to play if the var isn't created.

But maybe I am misreading (misunderstanding) your post, I'm not completely sure what you want. Sorry if so
