Hi,
I'm currently designing my web-site, and using Flash 8 in the process.
My home page which contains just 2 Flash 8 scenes is 3MB in size.
Is this to much? and if so what are the general file sizes for web-pages.
I'm un certain when I get round to creating my music showreel page, how to keep the file sizes down when I use mp3 and a media player etc
thanks in advance.

Jim Curtis:)

usualy you have large things like sounds video in a separate file wich will by loaded on request

i have saw great games including great graphic and sound whit less then 500Kb

a have saw great animations whit soud larger then 10Mb

it all depends what content you wana show

a complet 1 1/2 hour movie will always by large :p

by a file size larger then 100Kb you shoud always have a preloader !!!

try to measure the weight of you page in kb, not MB.... keep it light, and like xeef said. if you have large content, load it in when it is needed...
