flash mx

I have flash 8 prof and I want to know what the difference is bewteen flash 8 and flash mx. The reason is when following tutorials or books the code is usually in flash mx, so is this going to be messy when learning on flash 8.

It probably will... I suggest you stick with the Flash 8 specific books/tutorials if you are starting to learn Flash... Flash MX is like Flash v6, so you can guess lots of stuff will not be quite applicable to F8... I mean, syntax will be different, but the concept will be the same... So, it's good to learn the concept, but you will have some trouble when you have to convert the script to AS 2...
