Hi,

i set up my flash site to use the formmail.cgi from matt's script archive. Everything works great except on thing. When I recieve the email created from the user input, the message they typed was sent to me in html (i think).

for example:

the visitor typed "test" and sent it to me

when i recieve it in my inbox it would read:

<TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIGN="LEFT"><FONT FACE="Tahoma" SIZE="11" COLOR="#B6B9B8" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0">test</FONT></P></TEXTFORMAT>

Is there a way to change this so i just recieve plan text?

as you can see... it might be kinda hard for me to read it this way, hah.

Thanks very much for any help

turn off the html button in the properties of the textfield.

thanks for the tip, but i looked into that already. It's unchecked.

then you have it turned on dynamically.

Anyway the problem is your text field is html. Turn it off some way.

Good luck.

Im using input text, not dynamic.

i've checked over all the text property, i dont think the problem will be found there.

I was thinking it might actually be the formmail.cgi. The script is usually used for html sites, is it possible that because im running it off a flash site then it does not recognize the received variables in the same way?

Anybody familiar with the formmail.cgi?

input is dynamic by definition. I told you what the problem is. Want to bet 20 bucks I can fix it in 5 minutes if you give me the FLA?

Oh ok, i didnt know that input is dynamic.

I'm still learning most of these things... so i don't think i would wanna bet 20 bucks on my limited knowledge. hah

would you know what settings to change to make it so it's not dynamic?

I'm just saying things that change are dynamic by definition. "Dynamic" is not only a computer term.

Attach your fla.
