Problem importing a flash movie into another flash movie.

Hello i have a weird problem .....i think is simple but i cant seem to understand WHY! :eek:

i want to import flash animation in a flash movie ....I publish the file as swf and and i import the file on stage inside the other flash movie but flash doesnt accept it...i also tried exporting it as swf and then importing it but still nothing. Whats the normal way of importing a flash animation into another flash movie? :confused:

select all frames (press edit multiple frame button)
ctrl+alt+c, and paste it to you other movie ctrl+alt+v

Yeah that works fine but i was just wondering if flash can really do that or not. I have code in a frame that plays animation but i cant seem to export it and import it in another movie and play. When i tried copying and paste it works...apparently flash cannot do that...
