Hi All,

I am currently designing a rugby kits selector for a rugby mail order company.

It is in the initial stages at the moment but I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the selector before I start creating.

most things work apart from the call back button which will link to separate html contact form.

I al looking for problems with usability and general thoughts.

Thanks for reading

Hi Tim,

thanks for leaving feedback. I wanted the app to not be dominated by flash animations as this is not the focus of the site. The people who will be using this are not going to impressed at amazing graphics as they are only going on to look at the products. The products need to sell themselves, not a slick animation. This is why we went for a simple functional app.

Once again, thanks for leaving the feedback.

Anymore feedback would be greatly received.

Thanks

Steve

I like it. It's easy to nav through.

Only one thing bothers me and that's the colors for the clothing. The tones for black, white, and blue don't match up when the uniform is one solid color. It seems like the shirts are a tad bit lighter than the shorts and socks.

Also, it would be helpful if there was a name for the colors. (Idea) When the mouse rolls over the color blocks, have the name of the color appear below it.

Other than that, it looks good.

Thanks for your comments Paispais.

I know what you mean about the colour tones. I have spent hours trying to get the colours how I want them. The trouble is that I am working from one photo with Josh wearing one colour of the shirts, shorts and socks. The lighting of the photograph is top heavy and the shirts are lighter than the shorts and the socks. I have had to spend a lot of time in photoshop changing the original colours of the shirt from the actual colour which is royal blue to the other colour options available in the range. The same goes for the shorts and socks. The hardest was changing the black shorts and socks to white, which is why these look a bit dodgy.

Also, the shirts are polyester which mean they have a shine to them whereas the shorts and socks are matt which makes the shirts look lighter than the shorts and socks.

Whilst I agree with your comments on the colours, I have to use this template to create over 15 of these shirt selecters for other kits that are available which means a lot of colour correction on each of the photos used for each range available and due to time contraints, I do not think I will have time to get the colours exactly how I would like them.

I like your idea reagrding the colour name appearing when you roll over the buttons. I will look into adding this.

I am glad you like the overall simple navigation to the app. As I said above, this is what I was going for.

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments.

Regards

Steve
