im currently putting together a flash interactive CV and for one part id like the users to view websites but if possible within the application and not in a pop up browser. is there any way a dynamic text box can be jigged to display these html files?

No. A textfield can only show a very small subset of HTML, which is not enough to show regular websites.

I was looking to do the same thing a while back and I couldn't find anything which does that. You could use frames tho and then just load in either flash pages(embedded in html) or just html files not the ideal solution but a solution none the less.

no it is actually possible and quite easy check out www.aminomejodas.com/test section shop (except in safari for which it doesn't work for some reason) you get the paypal html over the flash.
It's just a little java and an iFrame

I think what galak is suggesting is that you use Javascript to create an iFrame over top of your Flash content, and load the website into that, not that you actually use an iFrame within Flash itself...

For a standalone projector, you can use a 3rd party tool like Zinc to display web pages inside Flash...

Otherwise, you'll just have to launch the web sites into a browser window...
