aight bud

i came here after reading ur post in the actionscript forum.

the site is a bit plain for me. everything seems a bit basic, even when lookng at the text. i don't know how to explain it really!

also i went to the contact page and there are like check boxes for if u want to recieve a cd etc. once these are checked it is impossible for the users to uncheck them if they have made a mistake.

on the level's business. why not load the contact page onto _level1 and make _level0._visible = false. the on ur button to get back unload _level1 and make _level0._visible = true.

just an idea??????????

BLEEDs

hey might be worth checking out N-Gen (http://www.n-generate.com/) for some design stuff

Yeah, I take your point about the design being a bit flat, some of the stuff I'm working on is a lot more interesting tho', check boxes on the contact page: again I had thought of that but I guess I am still in the development phase here.
The stuff you suggest for the button to return to main seems to be right as you're not the first person to come up with that.
Interesting thing for me is that it all works live which is a nice plus - now its back to the drawing board.
Thanks BLEEDA

vosgien,

Nice site, you obviously know your Flash. However i would just re-iterate what BLEEDA said about the design.

Now, this is just personal preference but i have a little trouble with constantly moving MC's/Buttons on the screen...unless it is extremely subtle.

The buttons are good, but perhaps you should consider only making them rotate when moused over, or something along those lines.

Also, the text for me was a little hard to read, i mean not massively hard to read...but it could be improved quite a bit.

I liked the site, but i just felt a bit bored....i think it was the colors. Also i kinda wanted different things to happen, it was all so, caculated and straight...everything from the design to the rotating buttons...just did not grab me. - It just looked like it needs something else, an extra bit of excitement ?????

I am not trying to put it down at all. I really think, with just a few changes in design approach and a bit more 'bounce' or interactivity the site will be really nice.

I think that things such as the text could do with being 'nailed down' a little, make it look more solid, use wahtever you can, e.g. a light boarder or corner peices or something.

Lodaing times were good, you might want to consider making it a ltitle more obvious when the user has hit a button too.

Hoped this helped, Snapple :)

ditto on generic look and feel, also I'd maybe add an outro to each section. it's a bit abrupt how the text dissapears and the new text fades in.

Hi,
Just wanted to say thanks to all that responded - as ever comments here are constructive and encouraging.
It seems to me, reading between the lines that my real problem is with design ideas, I've left the site up whilst rethinking some of the stuff - for example : I am inclined to keep the background ( purely 'cos I like it ) but am giving some serious thought to how the text info appears, I agree with Vilehelm on that one; not sure about nav system, like that too but.........
Also instead of offering a CD I want to put examples in pop ups - linked to the work in progress page - any ideas ( subjective or otherwise ) on size and position ?
Once again, thanks for taking the time

Cheers
