Hey everybody, here is a editorial photographers site that I just finished. Please take a look and let me know what you think. It's my first site.

novjoe,

Thats a good first site to have under your belt, ncie worked...i liked it. Loading times were very good, i liked the colors - some people say that if you have to use dark greys, bluey-greens then your not trying hard enough with the design, but in this case i think that it compliments the work very well.

Navigation was nice, might want to make the pictures, photographs come on the main stage a little more inventively ?

Usability was good, although i kinda expected the menu to carry on scrolling across when i took my cursor off it, because that is waht happend when i first entered the site, i think it would look and feel better if it conitinously scrolled, then stop when moused over - but still keeping the option of clicking on any of the buttons underneath. - but it is good to see those optional buttons underneath.

If i were you i would make the main navigation bigger, once your inside the site...they're VERY samll hit areas, and a lot of open space..yeah sure, nice - but to an extent.

Nice site, good work

Thanks for taking the time to read my comments,

Snapple :)

The site is a nice frame for the photography, appropriate looking.

The type is very tough to read. Look around and try one of those pixel type fonts (can anybody help me here on this one I forget). They're fonts that have no anti-aliasing and still look great, Made specifically for on screen reading. Just a tad more contrast and maybe a different color for the text link rollovers. It's almost like they dissapear with thta yellow.

very nice first site.

well I think the url that gets quoted most often in conjunction with pixel fonts is Miniml as the fonts there are supposed to be "specifically designed to remain aliased in Macromedia Flash"

hmmm, that's interesting, I just went back to your site for a second time and had a totally different experience. The first time I went clicked straight on the Marnie Crawford Samuelson link on the first page which of course took me to contacts. I had a play there and thought, oh is that it, weird a photo site with just 4 photos (though very nice ones) on the front page and a bit of text? ...and left it at that.
I really hadn't noticed that the four pics formed part of the nav til I went back and realised that they moused over too! (doh)
Nice site though, now I've actually visited it properly! Definitely agree with Vile about the legibility issue, lets the site down which is a real shame.
I'm also not sure whether the ocre background for the addtional text blurbs is a bit too much or not, when they appeared I found it distracting me from the actual photos.
BTW those blurb boxes - what's the logic to them? I couldn't actually work out what set them off. I'd think I'd triggered one then duplicate my action but be unable to retrigger it. Also sometimes the statements didn't quite match the photo that was on view at the same time. I found that a bit confusing.
otherwise, a very professional site

I liked your site a lot. I thought it was clean, well designed and easy to navigate.

Just one thing I would change is maybe try having the scrollable menu jump to the center on(Release) instead of when the user clicks the mouse button down.

I felt that something just didn't seem right when I was using this....like I had accidentally clicked on the wrong image sometimes.

maybe i'm just strange :P
