calderon22,
What if we don't like it..can we still tell you ? - Only kidding.
Well on to the site, firstly get rid of those banners ............Pllleeeeaassse, get rid of them - they destroy the site, you may as well not have produced a site if you gonna go and slap those on there. - Sorry, not personal, but your perfectly capable of seeing that it can ruin your many hours spent designing a site, or trying to create an envirnment etc, etc.
Exactly how much was that site under construction ? As in 1 page yeah ? Well either i am missing something real big here (which happens to me about every 5 minutes, so it is possible), but the site was not slow at all, i mean there was nothing to the site, but the re-loader for the intro page was swift.
The design, well it's pretty hard to comment ona site that only has 1 page, but if i were you i would make the text a little more easy for the user to read (i'm only 20, and i was reading like i was 70).
The BG image looked cool (do that your self) - but if your going to use flash, then make it obvious, that site just looked like a few aniamted gif's.
I am not trying to slate your site, but it does need some work, perhaps a few more sleepless nights and energy drinks could pay dividens.
I can see the effect you want, but not with those banners, and remember the person has to be able to USE the site, so think about that whilst designing it.
As for making a site faster, well use instances where ever you can, use color gradients + alpha transitions sparingly, optimize your graphics, use tweening instead of frame by frame animation, break apart groups within symbols to simplify them. etc, etc !
(All of the above is 'wherever possible' - i.e. it not alwasy is).
Hope it goes well.
Keep me informed as to how it progresses, i'd like to see it grow.
Hoped this was of some use,
Snapple :)

calderon22,
Web space is fairly cheap now, i mean you can pick up some bannerless / advertising free space for ya basic flash/html for a year for $25.

tell me about the page, maybe is to stupid, i know i know, i gotta work very hard, and spend those little hours in the night to get my ideas out in the open, but as you ll know my parents get angry about it. seeya!
PS: do you have msn?
aight bud
i couldn't get ur second link to load up so i'll just chat bout the first.
like snapple said not really much to go on. i can ignore the banners as i know they aint part of ur site.
freespace no banners brinkster (http://www.brinkster.com) .
loading time was long but it wasn't great means there aint nuttin there. i would blame it on the big background iage u got going on. seems to me like a good quality image and it covers the whole screen. try bringing the quality down for quicker loading time.
as with looks, i think it looks real kewl and is a real good starting point but u gotta be careful with them big images unless ur using MX. in that case u could load the image in after everything else has kicked off and is running soz that it don't affect the users using the site.
get some other pages up coz i'd love to see more.
