Finding music

Having looked through a load of the sites listed in the Site Check section, it occured to me that most of them have background music.
I'm curious as to where people find this music. Copyright obviously prevents most of the stuff that you might have lying around the house on CD, so I was wondering if there was some site or something on the internet to download copyright free music.
