View Full Version : Inserting HTML page within Flash Movie

I have a Flash website that I would like to display a scrollable window with contents from an HTML page. How do I make this work? Everything that I have tried opens the HTML page in a new window.

Flash can read HTML but only limited tags. You can load an HTML document, but it must have the same format as if you were loading a text file. &var=values, etc.

The HTML is generated from a retail software package. It displays the products.

I'm pretty sure most of that wont be supported by Flash's HTML tag support.

for flash to be able to display an html 'page', the player would have to have a browser built into it.... dont count on this happening any time soon (or ever would be my guess).

You could however spend months writing your own class to immitate those HTML tags...thought about it myself, then realized it just wasnt worth it.

there's no way you can do that in flash; all you can do is build an html page and include an iframe; put your html page there and have flash around the iframe??- just a thought
