newyorkpictures,
Well, firstly i would suggest changing that font on the splash page...looked like Times New Roman - people are used to seeing that every day of their lives writing letters etc, not hard to change, and produces a much more pro look.
Also, (this is probably me being a bit tired) but i assumed that the Flash intro was going to go somewhere, becasue you had the skip and enter button, but it did not. Nearly ALL Flash intro's eventually stop or go somewhere, preferbaly to where the skip button would have taken the user.
Photo's had good laoding times, liked the snow on one of the photos. I have my doubts about the usbaility, i mean generally it was good...but unless you know where your already going, how do you know where to go ? - It would have taken me qiute a while to get round all the photo's, and what if i wanted to go back to one....how would i know where it was i had previously clicked ?
I understand the effect your trying to achieve, with the user 'discovering' places, but some labeling might be in a good idea.
But it is a good site, and the flash technically is very good, you obviously know what your doing, and that was apparent in the site, it also had a good 'fun' aspect to it, with the graphics etc.
Nice work, i liked it - hope my comments have helped in some way.

Hello,
I'm looking at the site right now and am liking it. It has a nice 'feel' to it and while generally I am one for consistency and continuity in design I actually like the different styles of navigation (The film strip is my favourite) and to an extent, the different colours (mostly because they work well with the given sets of photos - orange is most definitly autumn, etc.)
However I think that these different styles, while working well for different sets of photos, should not be applied to the logo and other essential elements such as the text boxes. For instance, on one text box it's a click to scroll and on another it's a click and drag. I was a little confused at first. Also some of the gradients and tweens are unnecessary. Oh, and in the window with the snow I would click a link from the tsunami, it would appear for about 3 seconds, but then the first pic always came back without me clicking. There wasn't enough time to look at the picture.
But I can tell a lot of work has went into this site and it shows. I hear good designers always ask themselves if something needs to be there. If it's just there because it looks cool it should probably be taken out. Less is more.
I hope I don't sound too critical. I don't mean to be. It's good work and you should feel good about it.
