I'm trying to find some sound files but not having much luck. I'm looking for either guitar, keyboard or piano notes and need at least 7 notes (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) but would like to get a few more octaves if possible. Anyone know where I might find such a thing?

A musician friend?

No such luck Anonymous.

I thought this would be one of the more common type of Flash sound file as it would let you make a musical instrument with AS. It's ~got~ to be out there somewhere. If only I knew where to look... stupid non-completely-human-indexed intarweb.

How about recording these while you play them?

If I was going to "borrow" them I'd probably use a SWF ripper rather than record them. ;)

Anyway, I wasn't real impressed with the quality of those notes. The sustain on each was different.

It's no big deal, I just thought maybe my search skills were lacking and maybe I was missing something obvious.

I'm going to a MMUG and the host (a production company) has mentioned they have sound files which they don't mind sharing. Maybe I'll find something there.

Thanks.

Most of what you will find online will be in a catalog of some sort, and usually meant for samplers. Cost can be from a few tens of dollars to a couple hundred.

You might consider wandering into a local music store that carries keyboards, and starting up a conversation with the electronic music sales people. They might just do it for you, or charge you for 20 minutes worth of work to record something to DAT, MiniDisc, casette or even MP3.

By 'MMUG' do you mean a Macromedia/Adobe user group? If so, which one? I run one in New Mexico.

I'll be attending the CPMMUG Central Pennsylvania "MultiMedia" (formerly MacroMedia) Users Group.

If the MMUG doesn't pan out I might try your suggestions.

Thanks.
