Cannot load Avatar

I wanted to load an avatar so that my posts would also have my picutre. Whenever i try and load an image from my computer, or a url, it says cannot load. I have ensured that the images are small file sizes and less than 50x50 pixels.

Do you need special permission to do this?

I'm experiencing the same issue. When I load my 1k 50x50 .gif image from my computer or from my website, I get a message that says the avatar "could not be saved". I'd like to change out the current one I have, but this glitch is crushing my hopes and dreams of a new and glorious avatar! *cry*
