This is my online resume/portfolio, L7square.
Things i know don't work:
Resume downloads
links in 'about site' don't work
those little squares that grow aren't complete
the 'view' button in the portfolio doesn't work yet
Otherwise it's in working order and I'd love your feedback.
How's the load time? (scale of 1-5 and ur connection please)
Is the animation on the aboutMe page too much?

*It's Flash Player 6 only.
I appreciate your comments, good and bad. Thanks for your time.

frankenscarf,
Nice work, loading times were good for me. Erm about your scale, is 1 good and 5 bad or visa versa...mmmmm ? But the main pre-loader took around 4 seconds for me, not probs at all. Although there was quite pasue of 'nothing' between the pre-loader and the boxes fading in.
Over all, i liked it. - Very clean looking indeed. Usability was good, menu was clear and easy to use. I did not think that the aniamtion on the 'about me' section was too much at all.
The scrolling menu was nice, although i found it running away from me slightly, not always - but sometimes it moved after i had placed my cursor on it, nothing major.

Very nice indeed. Clean and usable yet still stylish and engaging. I am curious to see what the squares in the bottom left section do - I know they're unfinished so I won't say anything about them yet.
Load time was great - I'm on DSL; about 3 seconds is all I had to wait.
In the email form I think the 'clear' and 'send' icons are unclear. I thought at first that the X was close and the triangle was next or something.
It would be nice if when selecting something from the portfolio there were next/previous buttons because though the slider is nice, it's not the most usable navigation scheme to move directly from one piece onto the next. And I'm not sold on the 'info' button. You may run into problems when you have more text to display. Perhaps the window where the content resides should be a little bigger: it probably is the most important piece of the whole site. Oh waitaminute, I guess that's what that 'View' button is for. Never mind....
It's a very nice site. I give it two thumbs up. :)

Thank you very much Snapple and momentus. I had a feeling the form's buttons may be a bit obscure. Do you think a 'mouseover tip' would help there?
I'm glad to hear load times are good. I did my best to make it as small as possible by teaching myself aScript and building 'smart' clips.
The sliding menu /is/ a bit different than others, and you may be on to something with next and previous buttons momentus, thanks.
Again, thx guys.
More critique would be great, keep 'em coming.

The site is very very nice but one thing i would do different is use Tell Target to make the square buttons on the button look better. Like when you "Roll Out" it does an animatioin instead of of just go to and stop frame 1 :) ' nIcE CiTe '

ai_falcon, thank you very much for your input. i'm a little unclear as to what you mean by "the square buttons on the button"
squares are sortof a running theme here, if you could narrow it down a bit. ;)
keep 'em coming folks, don't hold back, tell me what you think. and thanks in advance.

One of the squares is named "DMB2 RESOURCE GUIDE" :D

A thorough and attractive site. One change I would make is for the buttons on the to navbar. Instead of coming out when you rollover, perhaps they could be pushed in.:)

I really like the type. What font are you using, and were there any issues with scrolling? I assume you have to scroll whole pixel amounts, or antialiasing kicks in.
I also like the fade effect at the edges of the scoll box.
Some of the body text is a little bizarre: "I just imagined where I'd play if I was a whaleshark" ...riiiiiight.
Overall it's good - you clearly know what you're doing.

thank you retrocool. 90 percent of the font in L7 is imported txt displayed as html. it's just plain verdana. the scroller counts total lines of imported txt. it's the scroller from the tutorials section here.
yea, i'm actually suprised the 'whaleshark' bit was the example you chose. i figured the 'here a skin there a skin...' bit might've been more bizarre. ;)
i'm a wacky sortof guy and see no reason not to entertain a bit where i can. thank you again for your feedback. let's hope some employer out there shares your opinion. :)

The site is now live at www.L7square.com and the previous link will no longer work.
Thank you all for your replies and critique.
