Sorry that was a reference to Reservoir Dogs.
So I'm seeing something that's kind of worrying me and I just want to know what's the deal?

With many (I won't say all, and maybe many is too large of a word even) examples I've looked at that are using Flash Version 8, I've seen an essentially "blank window" open up. It might have the background, which quite possibly is from the HTML or such, but there is no "program". I'm not seeing an error or any such thing. Is this just my imagination or is it true that the VM's are in no way "downwardly compatible"?

If the answer to the last question is yes then what have you guys found as a "best practice" to warrant against such problems?

I mean yes you could say it "dies gracefully" but that leaves the user in a quandry doesn't it?

Thanks for you guys input,
Christopher

It is possible to integrate version checking with flash movies, but this must be done explicitly:

Ok, so if I've got flash 9 and play something built with flash 8 what would you expect to occur on my computer? Would you expect it to run or "die"?

Run. Flash is extremely backwards compatible.

Thanks much Joeri so it must have been something weird I saw at those times and nothing to worry about in general. Thanks for laying my worries to rest.
