action script window help

new to flash, only have mx demo, and action script window is viewable where??? all these great tips and scripts here and i cannot find out where to see a single line of code in this thing. you would think this would be simple, dreamweaver mx has a window for code only stuff, but not flash mx. if i downloaded a sample file someone else made, where do i find where that code is for a movie or template? how do i learn if i can't see it? :( if anyone knows where there are simple explainantion for these things, post here please.

I don't have MX yet, still using number 5 - but along the bottom of the screen there should still be little icons that repesent the different toolbox windows - the one with the arrow on it is the actions - or if you use a PC, simply hit CTRL+ALT+A.
