Hi,
I am using flash and flv for video clip playback for a plasma, powered by a mac mini. Development of this was done on a PC with flash 8. The flv's are quite large, between 15mb and 30mb each, encoded at about 1000kb/s.
Playback performance on the PC is perfect, but on the mac, playback is choppy, although the audio is perfectly in sync.
The files all reside in a folder on the mac's hard drive (an Intel 1.66 Core Duo with 512MB of RAM)
I thought at first that the bit rate was too high or that the machine didn't have enough ram (the dev machine has 1.5Gb), but a smaller 400 kb/s file that plays perfectly on a Celeron PC with 256mb ram, also plays back poorly on the mac.
Anyone come across this before? Any tips/suggestions?
Thanks
Ryan.
