I know this is way off topic, and if anyone could recommend a good site to find more information.

I am seeking to do two things:
1. Convert movies created by the Arts departments (high school) into smaller files (5min= 40Mb = too big) for distribution on the web.

2. I am wanting to create tutorials for people using flash/dreamweaver. (I have seen many similiar around the place, I am not wanting to reinvent the wheel, however I am wanting to do things specific to my classroom).

I guess I am afer a 'how to' guide of some sort. does anyone care to give me some tips, or point me in the write direction?

Thanks,
cassie.

1: your file size is determind by the codec and quality you choose when compressing the video. Sorenson 3 at medium quality looks pretty good and are reasonable file sizes. So are flv files.

2: Camtasia Studio is an excellent application for developing video tutorials and creates swf files at very small file sizes

cheers

By the way.

I just checked out the video tutorials on the site you have in your sig.

Where the programs you mentioned used to create those? (Assuming that you had a hand in the making of them).
