I have created a slideshow player that just uses loadMovie to place external .swfs into a player. It uses xml to find the file and get the title, etc...

The player seems to work correctly, however creating these .swf files for every slide is very time consuming. Does anyone know of a way to have flash automatically place a picture and a sound file in a .swf, if based on a numbered naming structure (slide01.jpg / slide01.wav)?

Any help would be very appreciated.

I did a quick glance about on FlashSearch (http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=015158955796870541905%3Axsxagqtsc3a) And came across this on Kirupa.com: Photo Slideshow Using XML and Flash (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/xml_slideshow.htm) If you look at the XML file (shown on the previous article it references at the top) then you can see that it notes jpg files.

The XML file gives you more flexibility in my mind, but if you want to do the numbering system it really just derives down to string concatenation doesn't it? I mean "slide" + nNumber + ".jpg" (Of course if you're gonna use the "01" nomenclature you'd have to do some formatting on the number.

But that should provide you the general concept you're needing shouldn't it? I'm not sure how much of a pain doing the wav files would be though. Maybe none at all.

Lemme know what happens,
