Flash 8 Tweening help!

Im trying to tween a piece of text in flash 8, i have made it a symbol, done the usual process, and it works except it is really jagged. I only moved the text down about three steps, and when it is tweening it does not move for a few frames and then it moves down a whole step. It does the same until it is finished. I have no idea why it is doing this, but it looks terrible and i need it to be smooth. Does anyone have any idea why it would be like that or what is happening, and anyway to fix it? Thanks

I take it that you're motion tweening? (the other type is shape tweening). For motion tweening make sure both keyframes at each end has the symbol placed. At the beginning it should be where you want at the beginning. Likewise at the end where you want at the end. Make sure they are grouped together.

Can you confirm your text is set to Static? Tweening doesn't work too well with dynamic or input text.
