Hi guys Im new to this IDE but it looks quite good and am looking to use it for both as2 and 3. What are the best plugins to use this cross language tool.
Also any gotchas I should look out for ?

The best plugin for Eclipse is FDT, which I've used at various places I've worked. Very powerful, but it costs quite a bit, so at home I just use Sepy. The other Eclipse plugin is called ASDT, which I've not used. My only gripe with Eclipse is it's a bit bloated, I'm a fan of lightweight tools, but that's about my only issue.

Im used to flash and as2 and previewing movies in the flash IDE. Im trying to see what is the point in using eclipse ? can it show the flash movie and compile it without buying anything from adobe ?

It can if you combine it with some open source compilers like MTASC. But the main reason for using external editors is all the little extra bits they offer, like auto-completion, syntax check, code snippets, class explorers, version control, search/replace across files, the list goes on. Trust me, try one out for a week and you'll never go back ;)
