New Tutorial - Creating a Simple Flash Website

Uh... I see three copies of the tutorial on the Pending article list... and I don't know what's going on... Jesse???

Yeah... I don't see the duplicate now... What did you do??? Did you just delete those two??? Do you think this has something to do with my 4 test posts yesterday???

Nothing fancy. I have no idea why they duplicates were there. I'm guessing an accidental refresh or something... Shouldn't happen, but at least they all had unique IDs. I just look at the 3 of them via Live Preview. Two had no content so I "disapproved" them and noted they were "Duplicates" in the disapprove box.

I went through the article and I see lots of '/:' and I just don't know what to do with it...
If somebody try your tutorial on F8, and they sure will complain about the erroe message they get... Any chance updating the script so that it can run at least with F6 syntaxes, LamaBot??? ;)

Good point. Lazaro, what do you say to changing the variable syntax? The colon approach is pretty much obsolete now and I'm betting it'll be ruled out in future versions of Flash. Might be wise to the tutorial to be updated ahead of time...

The duplicated articles were refresh problems fyi. Anyway I am sorry for the use of "/:" and yes I'll change the syntaxes for you and the viewers. Don't I need a swift kick in the butt or what? :) Anyway I'll modify all three tutorials so the syntax complies with Flash 8 syntaxes.

Man Cyan, I didn't realize "/:" was deprecated!!! Well, I found a F8 syntax PDF and modified the articles accordingly. They're done now, thank you guys for being patient.

There was one more instace of /:, so I just changed it to _root and added an AS tag to the scripts on the last page... and the article is published... Thanks... :)
