Any help would be much appreciated.
I have been having problems with my animation and flash files in general once I put them in a html page. The animations run perfect running in flash player but very slow in html page.
The problem gets worse online. One of my swf's is 156k and takes up to fifteen seconds to completely load.
I've noticed that it will take about five seconds sometimes for the preloader to start. I have some code on the first page to detect for the correct flash player, but I never thought that would slow a page down five seconds.
Many thanks in advance
Kevin

Your Flash file is very small and shouldn't even need a preloader. Are you importing other swf's into this file? Are you using a dial up or high speed connection?

May be I'm wrong but I can suggest another way.
Convert your flash to video (http://www.geovid.com/Flash_to_Video_Encoder) and burn it to CD. So you can show it to your friends or make gifts... :P
Ok probably it's silly suggest but once it worked for me. Good luck :)

Go to "file/publish settings/format" and choose "Qhicktime"

Try this.....check that you have no superfluous files/graphics/movies that are exported for actionscript, these slow your page down and can result in a blank page prior to even the preloader showing. When exporting the movie try using the compression option and experiment with the loading order.
Hope this helps.

Hi Kevin - I'm having the exact same problem - wondering if you resolved this issue and I would love to know how you conquered it. I have a 300 kb file that is taking about 10 seconds to load, I've tried everything and this just seems to defy logic. The same file on the live site loads fine and I'm testing everything on the same server.
I'd love to hear any insight you may have.
Thanks!
