mp3 cropping and saving. possible?

Here's a question for you!.

Is it possible to load a mp3 file into flash and be able to have cropping controls to head and tail the file and then to be able to save that to the sever? like cool edit, sound forge ect... but simplier and online.

I have never herd of anything like this flash based but then i dont do much work with sound and flash.

There actually are a few sites that are like this out there that do this for the purpose of making ringtones:

are two examples. I'm trying to develop a site in order to commercially sell a ringtone creator service online. I discussed with faspay.com about licensing their technology, but they wanted $5K in licensing fees. Thus, I've been attempting to design my own for a month or so off and on and have figured out how to do the difficult part - the cropping. I've got the uploading down as well - using php - and I'm currently stuck on how to get the cropped version of the file into a new mp3 for exporting/sending to the user's phone. If you hear anything from anywhere else, feel free to share it with me and I'll cut you a deal for future profits!
