MC Scroller using AS1 in Flash8?

Hi, I'm trying unsuccessfully to make a scroller that contains a MC in Flash8 - using AS1. I've got old (AS1) script that works well in earlier versions of Flash, but non work in Flash8. So does anyone know some AS1 script that will move a MC using a (my own designed) scroll bar?
