Hi all,

Just looking to bounce some ideas around off you talented professionals!

I am looking to recreate the effect achieved with the ikea site:
http://www.ikea.com/ms/sv_SE/kampanj/fy06_dromkok/dromkok.html

It is this matrix style multiple camera angle shot which rotates around an action shot. Now my company is heavily interested in recreating this effect to our best ability, any suggestions as to what equipment you'd use, how you'd set up the shoot, and anything else you'd consider. I mean other than having some 20-odd cameras set up around the scene and clicking at the same time, im stumped! is there any professional companies which I could even contact that could achieve such an effect?

Any help would be really appreciated

I'm no expert, and I'm sure other folks on here will have some inputs, but the only way I know thats even remotely possible to achieve that effect convincingly is with lots of cameras (or a really sturdy tripod, alot of planning and some still-as-statue models!)... and I counted no less than 90 (much more than 20) cameras used in that IKEA example.

You need a separate camera for each frame. That means if you're shooting at 25 fps and you want your clip to last 3 seconds, you'll need 3 x 25 = 75 individual cameras! You could use simple disposable photo cameras instead of video cameras though...

It might be possible to use one camera but create the moving objects using a 3D modelling program and then import them into each frame.
