View Full Version : Fonts in Flash on OS X vs on PC

I am thinking of buying a G4 Powerbook, but have a good deal of Flash consulting work for a client who only uses PC's. I need to deliver published swf's as well as fla's.

Flash on Mac OS 9 rendered fonts so differently from the PC version that the text in the files required quite a bit of tweaking when going from one platform to the other.

Does anyone know if this is still an issue in OS X? Has anyone used Virtual PC on OS X to deal with the difference in font rendering? I've read that VPC is a memory hog - how much ram would I need to use VPC to run Flash?

Thanks

Hi,

PC's don't display type correctly. As a result, to bring the two platforms closer together Apple would have to downgrade their computers. I'm assuming that this won't happen, therefore it's still going to be an issue in OSX.

You should probably be trying to design cross-platform.

cheers.
