flash publishing

i have been using flash for a while. i am now on flash 8, from flash mx. i have noticed that when i am publishing my .swf, it takes an unordinarily long time to do it. probably around 5-10 min. i am running a 1.7 celeron m processor, and it didn't seem to be this slugish on flash mx. has anyone else experienced performance diff. with the new flash 8 pro.

Has the SWF file increased in file size? Other than that, I haven't noticed publishing processing time.

it's not too bad. only a few meg's. i've published harsher file sizes before. i suppose my computer is getting old, and has gotten too hot too much. thanks.

I don't experience any differences between both versions, and my processor is way worse than yours (don't laugh, 800MHZ).

Yes experienced problems. I found it was only on flash files I had developed in previous versions initially. The way I solved it was to back save the file to flash MX2004 and this seemed to do the trick. You can then save it as flash 8 but something seemedd to be effecting the publishing of the file that I couldn't solve by any other method.
