Is there any way to preserve a gif's transparency when I import it into a flash movie???.......
yes you can. is your gif has a transparency background? :D

I have the same problem too... say the background of the image is transparent... when i imported into flash, it will shows up with white background

Um... I could be wrong, but Flash supports Firework's version of PNG file really well... So... why not try it with PNG if you don't have several thousand GIF files??? Just a suggestion... :)

try this - instead of using the import facility from the flash menu - copy (in fireworks or image software) & paste ( in flash) - This works from fireworks to flash .

I've been trying all sorts of different ways.. but I don't have fireworks and it really doesn't seem to work any other way...
Any other ideas???
i wonder how you make your gif's transparency. can you try this image and see if you can see any background. i made it transparency (it used to have a white background but i edited out).

It's the first time it actually works!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the other gif files I had with a transparency just didn't import correctly... and then yours worked and then I created a new one that worked too... so I suppose I must have been doing something wrong.... sorry for this and thanxs so much!!!:D
